Bart Weisman hosts a monthly JazzJam on the third Sunday of every month at The Riverway Lobster House in Yarmouth. It starts at 4 PM and runs until 7. There is no cover charge. I was finally able to check it out (with Bob Aumueller and his wife, Jeanette, and my wife, Lynda) yesterday and had a fantastic time. Bart had a top notch rhythm section (Bart, Ron Ormsby, and Fred Boyle) who were augmented by many local instrumentalists and vocalists on a continuous rotating basis. Several of our Sound Dunes family were there including Mark Borgmann, John Shaw, and Doug Ricciardi. You can go and perform with the gang or you can just go and listen to some excellent live jazz. Join us for a the summer outdoor concert at the Dennis Village Green Bandstand. The Sound Dunes, together with the a capella quartet “Who’s the Boss”, are proud to have been invited by the Village Improvement Society of Dennis to perform for their Fourth of July celebration on Monday evening, July 3d at the Bandstand (Route 6A at Bass River Road). Our performance will begin at 7PM.
The band and quartet are working on a program that will have something for “children of all ages”:
— Patriotic tunes and recognition of past and present members of our Armed Forces
— Big band music and vocals from the 30’s, 40’s, and 50’s for listening to, singing along with, or even dancing to!
— Novelty tunes for the “younger” kids
— A few surprises!
Admission is FREE however donations will be graciously accepted on behalf of The Village improvement Society of Dennis.
